Missy Peterson
For over 20 years, Missy has played valuable roles in the industry. As a second generation stylist she has done every position in the salon and has also grown in the industry as an educator, editorial stylist and now as a specialist in Trichology, and hair loss which allows her to work with organizations helping cancer patients recover their self confidence. Missy chooses toamplify her skills with carefully chosen brands that will put the clients hair, skin and scalp wellness needs first. Education is Missy’s passion and using the education she gains to help clients overcome whatever challenges they face is what she strives for. Focusing on hair loss, hair reconstruction, scalp issues and offering services that will improve the guests overall wellness is the goal. Working with other specialists in Clean Slate Salon our clients can have every want and concern addressed in one place.
What is Trichology?
- Trichology is study of the science of the hair, hair loss and associated scalp problems. It encompasses the study of the diseases of the human hair and scalp, as well as the assessment of the cause or causes and treatment of these disorders. Trichology is the bridge between the salon and the dermatologist.
What does a Trichologist do?
- A Trichologist is a hair and scalp specialist. A Trichology certification requires formal training and testing in hair and scalp disorders above and beyond what is required for a cosmetology license. Having a Trichology Certification and a Cosmetology license allows Missy to see things from different angles and find the best solution available.
What is hair and scalp analysis?
- Analysis by definition is a detailed examination of the elements or structure of something. Using tools that can determine the health, density, strength, growth cycles, and overall condition of the hair and scalp I am able to determine what issues are present and how to approach them. Missy works from a functional medicine perspective similar to a nutritionist, dietitian or even a physical trainer. Her goal is to help the client make changes to get the results they are looking for.
Why do you need to see me?
- Simply put everyone has a scalp and everyone uses water so it doesn’t matter if you see a stylist regularly or you don’t see a salon pro at all, you will still have buildup on your scalp and hair. My focus is to make sure your hair and scalp are in the best possible condition so you have the best chance to have the hair you want and a healthy scalp free of issues. If growing your hair back isn’t an option, we will work with other professionals to find a solution for you. Sometimes treatment isn’t about re-growth as much as it is retention of the hair you have. With my extensive and specialized training I will help you determine what is going on, devise a plan to correct any issues that are negatively affecting you, your scalp and your hair, and then teach you how to maintain at home to keep the results we accomplish together.

Dermoscopic imaging and analysis of the scalp and hair to determine the proper course of action.
Head Spa Treatment
A Head Spa Treatment includes a full scalp analysis, a scalp makeover, extended scalp massage, and a vitamin C based mini facial. Head Spa encompasses hair, skin, and scalp in one service.
Skin Detox and Replenishing Treatment
This service will detox the skin and then replenish it. We start with a quick cleanse, treatment mask with vitamin C, zinc, and bentonite clay.
